WE RECOGNISE THAT VALUING AND PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH WE OPERATE IS CRITICAL TO A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE
We’re committed to growing our business responsibly and sustainably, so we can add value to our customers, company and the wider economy.
LIFE CYCLE IMPACT
To reduce the overall environmental impact of our products and operations we use Life Cycle Assessment to inform future research and product developments.
TREATING WASTE AS A VALUABLE RESOURCE
Cutting waste and reducing water use are priorities. Increasingly we recognise the value of our resources by seeking innovative ways to reuse or recycle them.
REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
We are constantly investigating new ways to tackle our carbon footprint as we strive towards a 30% reduction in our emissions across our manufacturing operations by 2020.
CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR 12 MILLION PEOPLE
We support local and global communities with humanitarian & health, education, design, technology & talent, environment & conservation projects through our 2020 Global Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
As well as developing sustainable manufacturing operations around the world and ensuring our facilities meet the highest global standards, we are taking a whole new approach to maximise efficiency and minimise waste. We have also made great strides in cutting water usage, energy consumption and waste to landfill.
How do you build more vehicles while creating fewer emissions? It’s a challenge we’re continuing to respond to by modifying everything from our factory processes and logistics to investing billions in new products and facilities, research and development. Find out more in our Sustainability Report.
We offset 100% of our manufacturing assembly emissions and use carbon finance to invest in local projects around the world. For example, we supported the distribution of innovative LifeStraw water filters to over 1,200,000 people in western Kenya, meaning they no longer have to boil water to make it safe for drinking.
OUR LIFE CYCLE APPROACH
The valuable insights from our Life Cycle Assessment process have helped us create the most sustainable generation of Land Rover vehicles yet.
By reducing the weight of a vehicle’s body and components, we can make our cars more efficient and deliver the outstanding performance our customers expect.
USING MORE SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
As a responsible business, we have put in place a long term goal of using sustainable materials such as natural rubber, recycled aluminium and plastics.
INSPIRING TOMORROW’S ENGINEERS
We’re dedicated to giving the next generation of engineers the means and skills to deliver a new wave of innovation. So far over 200,000 children have taken part in our Inspiring Tomorrow’s Engineers programme. We also create opportunities for talented young people to join our Apprenticeship Programmes.
Our award-winning apprenticeship programme attracts many young people to start a career in automotive design, engineering and technology. Apprentices earn while they learn and can be rewarded with exciting job opportunities all over the world. We offer places to a significant number of young people each year.
Land Rover works with Red Cross Societies globally in projects as diverse as disaster preparedness to helping people in times of economic difficulties. For example Land Rover is working with the British Red Cross to provide day-to-day, practical help for vulnerable people living alone in isolated communities who face real difficulties, particularly after a stay in hospital.
A boma is a fence made from locally-sourced materials and used to protect people and livestock from lions and other predators, thereby helping to protect lions from being hunted by herdsmen. We work with the Born Free Foundation to help erect bomas in Kenya’s Amboseli National Park, protecting some 2,500 people and 32,500 animals.
Important note on imagery & specification. The global shortage of semiconductors is
currently affecting vehicle build specifications, option availability, and build timings. This is a very dynamic situation, and as a result imagery used within thewebsite at present may not fully reflect current specifications for features, options, trim and colour schemes. Please consult your Retailer who will be able to confirm any current restrictions with you in order to allow an informed choice.
Jaguar Land Rover Limited is constantly seeking ways to improve the specification, design and production of its vehicles, parts and accessories and alterations take place continually, and we reserve the right to change without notice. Some features may vary between optional and standard for different model years. The information, specification, engines and colours on this website are based on European specification and may vary from market to market and are subject to change without notice. Some vehicles are shown with optional equipment and retailer-fit accessories that may not be available in all markets. Please contact your local retailer for local availability and prices.
The figures provided are as a result of official manufacturer's tests in accordance with EU legislation. A vehicle's actual fuel consumption may differ from that achieved in such tests and these figures are for comparative purposes only.
